Orphaned at the tender age of nine, prodigious introvert Beth Harmon discovers and masters the game of chess in 1960s USA. But child stardom comes at a price.
This Mini-Series is so good that you don't have to love chess to watch it, but it would help to have basic knowledge of how to play the game for a more enjoyable viewing experience.
FUN FACT: Unlike a majority of movies and television shows depicting chess boards, the chess boards are always set up correctly in this series and the chess games and positions are realistic. National Master Bruce Pandolfini and Grandmaster Garry Kasparov acted as consultants for this series.
