Young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.
 
This movie proves you don't need the same cast & crew to come back to tell a Lisbeth Salander story.  In all actuality, going forward every time with different actors & directors should be the norm for this franchise because it keeps each new film/story fresh and more entertaining.
 
FUN FACT:  It was announced in November 2015 that David Fincher, Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara would not be returning for this film. Mara and Craig were particularly upset about this as they were fully committed to a sequel, but due to the box office disappointment of their film, the planned sequels never happened.
