FUN FACT:  According to Mike Myers, less than a month before the film was released, the producers made plans for a sequel based on the book's sequel, The Cat in the Hat Comes Back.  However, Audrey Giesel, Dr. Seuss's widow was so furious after she saw the film that she legally forbade Hollywood from making any more live-action adaptations of Dr. Seuss stories.  It's the reason all subsequent Dr. Seuss films have been animated.
