A puppet is brought to life by a fairy, who assigns him to lead a virtuous life in order to become a real boy.
 
Pinocchi-NO!  The film is wooden and lacks humanity.  There's no heart, no magic and too many liberties were taken with the story.  Just watch the original again and let's never speak of this movie...not ever.
 
FUN FACT:  Geppetto's cuckoo clocks are a collection of Disney characters: Woody and his horse Bullseye from the Toy Story series (starring Tom Hanks), Donald Duck, Roger Rabbit and his wife Jessica kissing (from Robert Zemeckis's previous film Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)), Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The remaining clocks recreate those seen in the original Pinocchio (1940).
