After he's laid off, a husband switches roles with his wife. She returns to the workforce, and he becomes a stay-at-home dad, a job he has no clue how to do.
 
This is one of those films that you saw a long time ago and you think it's much better than it actually is, but in reality the movie is now extremely cheesy & super dated. 
 
FUN FACT:  This film was the first time Michael Keaton got top billing and he turned down Splash (1984) to do this movie.
