A mysterious force knocks the moon from its orbit and sends it hurtling on a collision course toward earth.
 
The only way you can watch this film is if you are able to suspend reality and just enjoy the sci-fi journey...I couldn't, but maybe you can.  The story is laughable and the acting is third-rate.  How Roland is still making giant blockbuster movies is beyond me.
 
FUN FACT:  They had a real astronaut on set during production as an advisor, and on occasion he would approach Roland Emmerich and say "hey guys I mean that's not really possible" they told him to roll with it as it's just a movie.
