A bright assistant D.A. investigates a gruesome hatchet murder and hides a clue he found at the crime scene. Under professional threats and an attempt on his life, he goes on heartbroken because evidence points to the woman he still loves.

FUN FACT:  This is David Caruso's second starring role of 1995 after Kiss of Death (1995).  Both pictures were box-office disasters.  Ironically, Caruso had left the highly successful NYPD Blue (1993) to star in these films.  His career never recovered and he almost quit acting until he was cast to lead the series CSI Miami (2002).
